sciences de la sant\u00e9 et de l\u2019environnement des \u00c9tats-Unis (U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NIEHS) a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que le rayonnement \u00e0 extr\u00eamement basse fr\u00e9quence (EBF) repr\u00e9sente un risque tr\u00e8s faible pour la sant\u00e9\u00a0: le rayonnement n\u2019est pas enti\u00e8rement inoffensif et il demeure un canc\u00e9rog\u00e8ne potentiel <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.niehs.nih.gov\/health\/assets\/docs_p_z\/report_powerline_electric_mg_predates_508.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NIEHS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-science-tells-us\">Ce que dit la science<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le rayonnement varie de la tr\u00e8s haute \u00e0 la tr\u00e8s basse \u00e9nergie. Le rayonnement haute \u00e9nergie comprend des rayons X et des rayons ultraviolets. Les rayons X et ultraviolets pr\u00e9sentent le potentiel d\u2019endommager l\u2019ADN des cellules, ce qui peut entra\u00eener le cancer. Les lignes \u00e9lectriques produisent <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">un rayonnement non ionisant basse fr\u00e9quence \u00e9mis par les champs \u00e9lectriques et magn\u00e9tiques. Les donn\u00e9es prouvant que l\u2019exposition \u00e0 ce type de rayonnement est associ\u00e9e au cancer sont limit\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"recherche-\u00e9pid\u00e9miologique\">Recherche \u00e9pid\u00e9miologique<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le rayonnement EBF, \u00e9mis par les lignes \u00e9lectriques ou les appareils m\u00e9nagers (tels que les r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateurs ou les aspirateurs), n\u2019a pas suffisamment d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour endommager l\u2019ADN. D\u2019apr\u00e8s la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine du cancer (American Cancer Society, ACS), il n\u2019existe aucune preuve que l\u2019exposition au rayonnement EBF cause le cancer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/cancer\/cancer-causes\/radiation-exposure\/extremely-low-frequency-radiation.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ACS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Le Centre international de Recherche sur le Cancer (CIRC) pr\u00e9sente des constatations identiques, mais a divis\u00e9 le rayonnement EBF en deux cat\u00e9gories\u00a0: \u00e9lectrique et magn\u00e9tique. Il faudra mener des recherches compl\u00e9mentaires pour \u00e9valuer le lien entre les deux. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Classification des substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes du CIRC\u00a0:<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Non class\u00e9<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-to-reduce-your-risk\">Comment r\u00e9duire votre risque<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On ne peut pas d\u00e9terminer clairement si l\u2019exposition au rayonnement EBF est nocif, mais vous pouvez prendre des mesures pour r\u00e9duire votre exposition. Le NIEHS recommande de se renseigner pour savoir d\u2019o\u00f9 provient l\u2019exposition EBF et de limiter le temps pass\u00e9 \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de ces sources. Le rayonnement EBF \u00e9mis par les lignes \u00e9lectriques, par exemple, diminue consid\u00e9rablement au fur et \u00e0 mesure que la distance par rapport aux lignes \u00e9lectriques augmente. Plus vous vous \u00e9loignez, plus vous \u00eates prot\u00e9g\u00e9(e) du rayonnement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"bottom-line\">En un mot<\/h3>\n<p>On ne peut pas d\u00e9clarer clairement que le rayonnement \u00e0 extr\u00eamement basse fr\u00e9quence cause le cancer, mais cela repr\u00e9sente un certain risque pour la sant\u00e9.
