insecticide au DEET peut causer le cancer. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-science-tells-us\">Ce que dit la science<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les craintes par rapport aux r\u00e9pulsifs anti-insectes concernent principalement l\u2019un de leurs ingr\u00e9dients les plus courants\u00a0: le N,N-di\u00e9thyl-m\u00e9ta-toluamide, plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement appel\u00e9 le DEET. Le DEET conf\u00e8re aux a\u00e9rosols insecticides leur forte odeur chimique, qui sert \u00e0 repousser les insectes qui piquent, tels que les moustiques, les tiques et les puces.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"recherche-\u00e9pid\u00e9miologique\">Recherche \u00e9pid\u00e9miologique<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019Agence de protection de l\u2019environnement (Environmental Protection Agency, EPA) a conclu que le DEET n\u2019est pas canc\u00e9rog\u00e8ne pour l\u2019homme. Des niveaux d\u2019exposition \u00e9lev\u00e9s, dans le cadre d\u2019un d\u00e9versement chimique par exemple, peuvent endommager le syst\u00e8me nerveux central. D\u2019autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments probants concernant le risque de cancer n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 clairement d\u00e9termin\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"\u00c9tude-en-laboratoire\/\u00e9l\u00e9men\">\u00c9tude en laboratoire\/\u00e9l\u00e9ments de preuve<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certaines \u00e9tudes animales ont signal\u00e9 une augmentation du risque de cancer apr\u00e8s une exposition au DEET (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/npic.orst.edu\/factsheets\/DEETgen.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NPIC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Toutefois, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plusieurs grandes \u00e9tudes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e0 long terme r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur des animaux n\u2019ont pas permis de constater une augmentation du nombre de tumeurs apr\u00e8s une exposition aux a\u00e9rosols r\u00e9pulsifs au DEET (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atsdr.cdc.gov\/toxfaqs\/tfacts185.pdf\">ATSDR<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"classification-des-substances-\"><strong><i>Classification des substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes du CIRC\u00a0:<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Non class\u00e9<\/span><\/h4>\n<h3 id=\"how-to-reduce-your-risk\">Comment r\u00e9duire votre risque<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Utilisez toujours les r\u00e9pulsifs anti-insectes comme indiqu\u00e9 sur le mode d\u2019emploi. Appliquez les r\u00e9pulsifs anti-insectes uniquement sur la peau expos\u00e9e et\/ou les v\u00eatements et jamais \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 des yeux ou de la bouche. Lorsque vous utilisez un a\u00e9rosol, ne vaporisez jamais le produit directement sur le visage. Vaporisez en premier lieu sur les mains puis appliquez le produit sur le visage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019EPA a approuv\u00e9 l\u2019utilisation des r\u00e9pulsifs anti-insectes qui ne contiennent pas de DEET. Par exemple, un autre ingr\u00e9dient dans les r\u00e9pulsifs anti-insectes et les pesticides industriels est la perm\u00e9thrine. L\u2019Agence de protection de l\u2019environnement (EPA) a conclu que la perm\u00e9thrine (et les agents chimiques associ\u00e9s, la resm\u00e9thrine et la d-ph\u00e9nothrine) peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e dans la lutte contre les moustiques \u00e0 des fins de sant\u00e9 publique sans poser de risques inacceptables pour l\u2019homme (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/mosquitocontrol\/permethrin-resmethrin-d-phenothrin-sumithrinr-synthetic-pyrethroids-mosquito-control\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EPA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Ces alternatives pourraient vous tranquilliser si vous pr\u00e9f\u00e9rez \u00e9viter le DEET.
